Façade Statics: Wind Loads, Deflection and Vertical Mullion Selection
Sample Façade Structural Report
Below is a sample façade statics report prepared by façade consultant and civil engineer Utku Çiçek. The report includes wind load, deflection limits and required second moment of area (Ireq) in line with TS 498 and EN 1991-1-4. It can be used for profile selection, engineering verification and safety checks in unitized/curtain walls and aluminum façade systems.
We also provide anchor, bolt and welded connection checks as well as continuous beam and other structural analyses.
Vertical Mullion Analysis [ under wind load ]
Enter the design area load (kN/m²). Multiplying by the module/axis width B yields the line load w (kN/m). With the span L (cm), the EN 13830:2015+A1:2020 deflection limit is auto-selected and the required second moment of area (Ireq) is obtained from the simply supported beam formula (two pinned supports).
Inputs
Note: w = |q| × B
(kN/m). Deflection
limit per EN 13830 5.7–5.8: L ≤ 3000 mm → L/200; 3000 < L
< 7500 mm → 5 mm + L/300; L ≥ 7500 mm → L/250.
